In March 2017, the community of New Ferry was suddenly devastated by a catastrophic explosion that reverberated across the Wirral peninsula and beyond. The blast's impact was so powerful that it was felt over five miles away, affecting numerous homes and businesses. In the immediate aftermath, residents faced both physical and emotional challenges. Many were rendered homeless, while others confronted the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from the debris. The community's spirit was severely tested, but amidst the turmoil, a steadfast determination began to emerge.​

Our newly refurbished New Ferry Community Hub is set to become a vibrant centre for community engagement, offering essential services such as youth activities, sports programmes, an affordable gym, a Community Kitchen to combat food insecurity, and support for alternative education. However, to fully operationalise these initiatives and restore a sense of community and unity, we need to raise £20,000 to fund essential staff wages.​
