Hello everyone, 

To those of you who don't know, I'm Aaron Dickie and Emily Robertson is my roommate. I'm posting this today on behalf of Em, who went through a pretty horrible experience a couple of weeks ago. 

Em was robbed by a person posing to be a Toronto Police Officer. After multiple threats against her life, and her family, and being interrogated for hours, they stole all of the savings she had in her bank account, totalling just under $7000.00. She has already filed an official report with an actual police officer, but they've come to the conclusion that there is nothing they can do, and she will never get the money back. It hasn't been an easy few weeks for us here at our place. 

If you know Emily like I do, you'd know she is incredibly stubborn and does not like asking for help. She told me she hasn't spoken about this publicly because she didn't want anyone to worry about her, but while living with her I watch her struggle through the aftermath. 


This week Em told me that about half of the money that was stolen was from an account she kept specifically for traveling home to Nova Scotia in case of emergencies. I know she would never say so, but she definitely needs help, and I know it would mean a lot to her to have those savings back.

Anything you can give I know she’d greatly appreciate. She’s been my best friend for almost 9 years now and having seen her go through such a disheartening experience and still power through every day is nothing more than amazing. Having her by my side supporting me for so long, I thought the least I could do was set this up and help her out any way I could.
