Rafah Community Needs Your Support

Peace be upon you,
I am Mohammed Raed Adwan, from the Gaza Strip, and today I share with you my story and that of my family, hoping that our words will resonate in your hearts after the whole world has abandoned us.
In the aftermath of the devastating war, we suddenly found ourselves without a home, without work, without any source of income. We had nothing but the sky as our roof and tents as a temporary shelter that could not protect us from the bitter cold or the scorching summer heat. The days passed heavily as we struggled just to survive. As conditions worsened, providing food for my family became a daily challenge. We were used to living a dignified life, relying on our work to secure our daily sustenance, but the war took everything from us. We were forced to rely on aid that barely reached us, until the Rafah crossing was closed and food prices skyrocketed.
When the evacuation order came, we were forced to leave once again, leaving behind our memories and all that remained of our hope. Our journey to Khan Younis was painful, where we found ourselves in barren land, devoid of life, without electricity or clean water, and without even the bare minimum to sustain us.
As the crisis deepened, we decided not to stand idly by. We started a simple initiative, a small community kitchen, through which we tried to prepare hot meals for ourselves and the displaced families around us. We had very limited resources, but it was a glimmer of hope in the darkness of our suffering.
But today, we stand at a crossroads, uncertain of how we will continue or how we will secure the next meals. We rely entirely on donations, and every contribution, no matter how small, means an extra meal for a hungry child or a family in distress. Your support can make a real difference and help keep this project alive.
We have lost our homes, our dreams, and even when a truce was announced, there was nothing left for us to return to. Our city has turned into mere rubble, and we are left wondering: is this just a nightmare that will end?
All we ask for is a chance at life, a chance to feed our children, to find shelter that protects us, or even the opportunity to leave this suffering if we can. We are civilians, we only want to live with dignity and have our voices heard.
My family has lost everything—our home, our hopes, our sense of security. The war took away the place where we built our dreams, but we are still standing, still fighting to survive.
