Creating Opportunities Through Athletics – Skill Development Program
Founded in 2018, Creating Opportunities Through Athletics (C.O.T.A.) is dedicated to serving youth ages 9 to 21. Our mission is simple but powerful: keep young people off the streets and out of prisons by giving them real opportunities to become something special.
Over the past five years, C.O.T.A. has proudly served 627 boys and girls, providing mentorship, structure, and life-changing experiences under the leadership of Marion Cash.
Coach Cash’s journey fuels the program’s foundation. He played at Pratt Community College, where he earned Third Team All-American honors, before receiving a Division I scholarship to Clemson University. In 1990, he helped secure an Atlantic Coast Conference Championship victory over Duke University.
Through the discipline and structure of competing at the Division I level, Coach Cash understands firsthand what it takes to become a champion—on and off the court.
What C.O.T.A. Provides:
• Social skills development
• Job preparedness training
• Independent living skills
• Athletic trips, travel, and tourism exposure
• Resume writing assistance
