Hello, I’m Colm Rooney, and I’m honored to share the inspiring work of my dear friend, Nantamba David, Co-Founder of the Tosiyo Helping Hands Foundation in Kampala, Uganda.
Our Mission:
At Tosiyo Helping Hands Foundation, we believe every child deserves a chance to thrive. We provide food, shelter, education, and hope to over 500 orphaned, disabled, and vulnerable children — while also nurturing our planet through sustainable farming and environmental conservation.
What We Do
Care for Children: Providing daily meals, safe homes, and access to education for hundreds of children in need.
Sustainable Farming: Using permaculture techniques to grow food, reduce hunger, and protect the environment.
Community Support: Empowering families and neighborhoods in Makindye, Kasawo, Nansana, and Kasese.
Environmental Stewardship: Planting trees, flowers, and gardens to combat climate change and promote biodiversity.
Our Dream: A Self-Sustaining Home and Farm
Currently, we lease land to run our programs. Our dream is to purchase our own property to create a permanent orphanage and permaculture farm — a loving, self-sustaining community where children can flourish, and nature thrives alongside them.
Why We Need Your Help
Your generosity will help us:
- Acquire a large plot of land suitable for homes and farming.
- Build permanent, safe homes for our children.
- Expand our permaculture farm to grow nutritious food and reduce hunger.
- Plant more trees and gardens to nurture the environment.
Our Goal: $35,000 USD
We’ve broken this goal into manageable phases so you can see exactly where your support goes:
Phase 1 — $10,000: Secure a deposit to purchase land.
Phase 2 — $15,000: Build permanent homes for the children.
Phase 3 — $10,000: Develop the permaculture farm and plant trees and gardens.
Every contribution, large or small, moves us closer to creating a safe, thriving home and sustainable food system.
Every Donation Counts
$10 feeds a child for a week.
$50 plants 10 trees that help clean the air and nourish the soil.
$100 supports a child’s education for a whole month.
