We are a small collective of four individuals who have been delivering mental health health training in Sri Lanka. We are collecting to support the causes of the Roshan Mahanama Trust.

Founded by legendary Sri Lankan cricketer Roshan Mahanama, the Roshan Mahanama Trust is committed to empowering underprivileged children in Sri Lanka. Mahanama, a vital member of the 1996 Cricket World Cup-winning team and a respected former ICC match referee, has transitioned from sports to philanthropy with a fierce dedication to uplift the lives of others.
Following his retirement from a storied cricket career, during which he officiated more than 300 international matches, Mahanama channeled his passion for making a difference into humanitarian efforts. His work post-tsunami in 2004 saw him assist in numerous reconstruction projects for affected communities, including building much-needed homes and providing scholarships for underprivileged children. He personally funded and constructed a preschool in the remote village of Weheratanna, an area that lacked educational facilities. His initiative led to the establishment of the Roshan Mahanama Primary School, which now nurtures over 100 children, allowing them access to education that was previously out of reach.
As a former UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Sri Lanka, Mahanama championed the rights and welfare of children, actively participating in campaigns addressing critical issues such as child labor and abuse. His advocacy for children’s rights has resonated through various projects aimed at significantly improving their lives. In addition to his commitment to children’s education, Mahanama has served as a trustee of the Indira Cancer Trust, dedicating his efforts to raise funds and awareness for those battling cancer.
In 2022, Roshan Mahanama took a significant step by establishing the Roshan Mahanama Trust, an initiative that centers on three key areas: Education C Growth, Health and Wellbeing, and fostering a safe and secure environment for children. The Trust is dedicated to providing children with a solid educational foundation, promoting healthy lifestyles, and ensuring their safety. Our focused efforts stem from the belief that a nurturing environment can cultivate a generation capable of self- sustainability and societal contribution.
