I've called the Lehigh Valley my home since 2006. I’ve spent my career here as an RN and paramedic, caring for individuals whose biggest challenges aren’t always medical—they’re often logistical. One of the most persistent barriers I’ve seen, both professionally and within my own family, is how difficult it can be for wheelchair users to simply get to the places where life happens. I experienced this firsthand with my own grandparents, and now with my mother-in-law. Time and again, we’ve struggled to find safe, dependable transportation that allows them to stay in their own chairs and maintain their dignity. Too many outings, celebrations, and lunch dates have been missed—not due to lack of desire, but because accessible transportation just isn’t available when it’s needed. These personal experiences have fueled a mission that has been growing in me for years. And now, it’s time to bring it to life.

In Spring 2026, my husband Chris and I will be launching Empowering Transit, LLC: A no-transfer transportation service designed specifically for wheelchair users and their family and friends (and pets, too!). Our goal is to create a safe, respectful, and empowering option that helps restore independence and connection—because everyone deserves the ability to say “yes” to the moments that matter.

To make this a reality, I’m asking for your support. Your contributions will go toward securing the specialized vehicle, safety equipment, insurance, and start-up costs required to deliver the level of care and reliability our riders deserve.
