Empowering the Future: Supporting Mel's Family

Asking for help isn't an easy task for her, but the incredible support we've witnessed pouring in lately has filled our hearts with gratitude. Your kindness means the world to Mel and, most importantly, to her kids.

I'm overjoyed to share that, thanks to your incredible gifts, Mel has successfully paid off the midwives and managed to cover bills and additional needs for her family over the holidays. It's a testament to the responsible care she's committed to providing for her family.

In the last two months, Mel faced a challenging situation in her business. She courageously spoke up for her integrity within a contract, leading to an unexpected termination that significantly impacted her income. In every challenge, there's an opportunity for growth. This experience reinforced her commitment to standing up for herself and the value of her work, allowing her to refocus on scaling her business, Eco Clean. This took a huge cut to her income during such a vulnerable and unknown time. I have watched her pour what she can into pivoting for her clients and having faith it will work out. The vision Mel has for Eco Clean is inspiring. Scaling this business is not just a personal goal but an opportunity to create avenues for women to support themselves. Her goals are always being worked on, but she is running into some blocks in her expansion at this time. Along with that, medical professionals have encouraged Mel to discontinue working so physically hard sooner than she expected/hoped. As she pivots to honor her pregnancy, this has created an additional stress on her income.

If you know Mel, you know that she is a hard worker for her family. I have been so inspired by how much she pours into making sure her ends are met each month. This still has not been sufficient for the times we’re in and her needs as a single mother. She's always seeking guidance on expanding her business, and any support in that realm would be truly appreciated.

The financial commitments ahead include a family overhead minimally of $4k each month. These next few months are crucial as Mel prepares for the arrival of her new family member, and then as she heals and recovers from birth. Unfortunately, the man who promised support has left these responsibilities solely on her shoulders, adding a significant financial toll. In addition to this hardship, she also does not receive child support for her two boys.

Your support ensures they can meet basic needs during this adjustment period. She recognizes the financial challenges ahead, and though it's difficult to ask for support, Mel is grateful for the community that has come around her in the last few years.
