Empowering Resilience; Rebuilding Hope and Home
Donation protected
In the heart of Karachi, Pakistan, a widow named Naeema clings to hope amidst a life filled with heartache and struggles. Once married to a loving man living in Saudi Arabia, things took a drastic turn for the worse. Her husband's hard work and dedication coupled with her own tenacity allowed them to build a beautiful family home, a sanctuary filled with love and memories, right there in Pakistan.
But fate had other plans, and their legal papers expired, forcing them to uproot their lives and move back to Karachi. In this unfamiliar city, Naeema found her family home occupied by her greedy brother-in-law, who heartlessly kicked her and her six daughters out, leaving them homeless. Undeterred, she built a humble shelter on the rooftop, where they lived for years, facing the scorching sun and relentless winds, yet never losing hope.
Shortly after arriving in Pakistan, her husband's health deteriorated rapidly due to his long-standing battle with diabetes. His foot was amputated, and he suffered from multiple health problems, requiring costly medical procedures. Naeema stood by his side, caring for him tirelessly, but fate dealt a cruel blow, and he passed away, leaving her heartbroken and alone, with the weight of the world on her shoulders.
Devastated by her loss and the injustice of her brother-in-law's actions, Naeema had no choice but to take her case to the courts, fighting for her rightful home. The legal battle not only consumed her emotionally but also cost her a significant portion of her hard-earned savings.
Amidst the struggle, Naeema's eldest daughter's marriage turned into a nightmare. Despite escaping the torment, she returned home with two innocent children—one an 11-year-old with cerebral palsy, incapable of fulfilling his own basic needs. Naeema now carries the weight of caring for her grandchild's every need, in addition to her daughters, all of varying ages.
Her selfless determination to provide for her family has taken a toll on her health. At her age, Naeema battles diabetes and multiple fractures, without access to proper medical care. She endures the pain, neglecting herself to ensure her loved ones have even the bare essentials.
Naeema dreams of marrying off her daughters, hoping for their happiness and security. But society's cruel judgments prioritize status and wealth over genuine hearts, leaving her worried for her daughters' future.
Her plea is simple but heart-wrenching—to secure a permanent home where her daughters can find comfort, safety, and stability. The family home they once shared, built with love in Pakistan, was meant to be a haven for her family. Naeema does have some funds, but an additional $55,000 CAD is required to help her secure a new home, a place where her family can start anew.
The burden of uncertainty weighs heavily on her, knowing that any misfortune could leave her beloved daughters and grandchildren homeless.
In this sea of hardships, the strength of family and friends has provided some aid, but the cost remains overwhelming. Naeema clings to hope, praying for a ray of light in the darkness that surrounds her.
