Growing up, I noticed that even though many gifted children of color in my community shared my interests in forensic and criminal justice fields, there were very few people who looked like us in these professions. This lack of representation inspired me to take action and create a space where POC students could find the support, resources, and encouragement that I wish I had when I was starting out. I believe that every student deserves to feel seen, empowered, and supported as they pursue their dreams, especially in fields where diversity has historically been lacking.
By starting this student club, I hope to provide professional development courses, academic support, networking opportunities, and mentorship for POC students interested in forensic and criminal justice careers. The funds raised will help us bring in guest speakers, cover certification materials, support conference travel, and organize community outreach programs. These resources will not only help students navigate their academic and professional journeys but also foster a sense of belonging and confidence in their abilities.
Your support can make a real difference in building a more inclusive and diverse future workforce in forensic and criminal justice disciplines. Together, we can create an environment where every student feels valued and empowered to pursue their passions. Please consider contributing to help us launch this important initiative and make lasting change on our campus and beyond.
