OUR STORY

SCHWARZWALD JOHN ORG was founded by John Gomez, who grew up in the village of Barkoteh, The Gambia. Coming from a poor family, John experienced firsthand the difficulties of pursuing an education without adequate resources. He often struggled to obtain the necessary stationery for his nursery and lower basic school studies. These challenges shaped his perspective and ignited a lifelong passion for helping others in similar situations.

Determined to make a difference, John established the foundation with a focus on two primary areas: education and livelihood. He recognized that providing school supplies to students and supporting families with essential groceries could significantly impact their lives, offering them a chance at a better future. With the support of dedicated volunteers and generous donors, the foundation has been able to extend its reach and impact, touching the lives of many in The Gambia.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to empower the underprivileged in The Gambia by enhancing educational opportunities and supporting livelihood initiatives. We believe that education is a fundamental right and a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. Our goal is to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has access to the resources they need to succeed academically. Additionally, we strive to improve the quality of life for needy families by providing essential groceries, thereby fostering a supportive community environment.

OUR IMPACT

Since our inception, SCHWARZWALD JOHN ORG has made significant strides in improving the lives of many students and families in The Gambia. Each year, we:

1. Support Education: Distribute school bags and stationery to students in need, helping them to focus on their studies without worrying about basic supplies.
