Full Marathon for Differently Abled in Sri Lanka
Donation protected
Hello, everyone! My name is Judeland Ajith Anthony, and I am on a mission to make a difference in the lives of people in Sri Lanka. On October 15, 2023, I will be embarking on a challenging journey by running a full Melbourne marathon on my wheelchair. Melbourne marathon 2023. This marathon is not just about testing my physical limits; it's about raising funds to support people in Sri Lanka who are still struggling because of the civil war and the current economical situation and yet aspiring to live a better life.
My Story:
I hail from Sri Lanka, a country that has faced its share of challenges, including the devastating Sri Lankan Civil War. On September 23, 1996, I experienced the horrors of war firsthand when our village was engulfed in a battle. Trying to escape, I pedaled on my bicycle, but a bomb explosion changed my life forever. A shrapnel from the bomb struck my lower back, leaving me in shock and unable to move my legs. I was given the name "Paraplegic T12." The doctors' prognosis was disheartening, claiming I would never regain movement and be confined to a bed for life. However, I refused to accept this fate. My indomitable spirit and unwavering belief in the power of the mind led me to defy those expectations and rebuild my life.
Supporting Differently Abled in Sri Lanka: The funds I raise through this GoFundMe campaign will be directly channeled towards supporting Vanni Rehabilitation Organisation for the Differently Abled (VAROD). 100% of the funds raised from this GoFundMe will be given to them directly.
In February 2024, I will be visiting Sri Lanka to personally ensure that every penny collected here goes towards helping these individuals live an independent life. The organisation will offer mentorship, awareness workshops, mental health awareness workshops, and help them live with dignity and respect in the community by providing skills and support to start their own businesses.
The Vision:
Now, I stand in a position to show the world that our destinies are not determined by others but by our own minds. My personal journey has taught me that we possess the strength to shape our destinies and achieve the extraordinary. I am determined to share this empowering message with others and provide tangible support to those in need. Your Contribution: By contributing to this cause, you become a part of a transformative journey for these differently abled individuals. Your support will not only help them start their businesses but also instill the confidence and hope needed to build a brighter future.
Join Me in This Movement:
Let's come together and be the change we wish to see in the world. Together, we can empower these individuals, who have the potential to contribute significantly to their communities and society at large. Your support means the world to me and the countless lives it will touch.
Thank you for being a driving force behind this mission. Let's make dreams come true, one step at a time.
