The Perseus Project was born out of a moment of injustice, rage, and an urgency to take action after the tragic death of Renee Good, at the hands of ICE. I joined a protest where I handed out whistles in hundreds to help people alert their neighbors of the presence of ICE. Those welcoming hands were just as eager. The response was overwhelming—everyone wanted to do something, even something as simple as carrying a whistle, to protect their community. That moment made clear how much our neighborhoods need support, preparation, and education in the face of the imminent threat posed by ICE.
Inspired by that experience, I am launching the Perseus Project as a grassroots mutual aid effort dedicated to rapid response and community care. With your support, we intend to provide whistle kits to help neighbors alarm each other, print and distribute vital information, and organize outreach to ensure everyone knows their rights and resources. Our plans also include delivering food, medical supplies, and feminine hygiene products to migrants who may not be able to leave their homes for fear of ICE, as well as support legal costs for both immigrants and protesters. We hope to donate to similar organizations and your donations can help us acquire the tools we need to expand our reach and connect with those who need us most.
We invite you to stand with us in solidarity. Your support will help us launch these vital services and care for our neighbors in need. Every contribution makes a difference in building a safer, more prepared community. Together, we can make sure no one faces these challenges alone.
