Priority Farm LLC is a faith-based farm, serving the community with it's mission to mentor children, especially those from single-parent homes, and support veterans, active-duty service members, and foster families. We aim to empower these groups by providing a space to enjoy God's great outdoors and animals, teaching new skills and responsibilities in gardening, animal care, land maintenance, and more. By partnering with volunteers, churches, and the broader community, we strive to foster success in the lives of the children and parents we serve. Our ultimate goal is to create a positive impact on individuals and communities through changed lives, newly acquired skills, food security, and stronger bonds.
To further our mission, we are seeking funding to purchase and install a 30'x60' pavilion that will serve as a multi-purpose structure. This pavilion will provide much-needed shade and shelter for our summer camps, agritourism groups, work groups, community farm events, and educational programs.
Our largest agritourism group to date consisted of 71 first graders and 16 teachers and parent chaperones, totaling 97 people. Our largest work group had over 30 participants. Currently, we don't have a single area large enough to accommodate these groups for eating, education, breaks, team-building, or community-building activities.
The 30'x60' pavilion will be strategically placed near our greenhouse, outdoor garden, and animal pastures, providing shade and shelter for those working or learning in these areas. The overall vision for the pavilion includes a concrete floor, with the pavilion divided into two spaces: the larger area for meeting space and the smaller for processing and cold storage for produce.
The main area, measuring 30'x42', will have open sides that can be enclosed for weather protection. This section will provide shade, as well as feature solar-powered ceiling fans, lighting, and audio/video equipment. This area will accommodate around 100 people seated at 8' folding tables and chairs, which can be stored in the storage closet if an open area is desired. This area will be used for education, summer camps, meetings, social gatherings, church services, and community events. This expansion will enable us to host events with food trucks and music, further strengthening our farm's offerings and community engagement.
The remaining 30'x18' area under the pavilion will be enclosed and equipped to serve as a Wash/Pack/Cold Storage area, and produce value-added products to sell. Being closer to where the produce is harvested, this space will allow us to implement improved practices to increase efficiency and the quality and shelf-life of our produce.
In summary, the installation of a 30'x60' pavilion will significantly enhance our farm's ability to serve the community by providing a versatile space for education, events, and production. With your support, we can continue to empower children, veterans, active-duty service members, and foster families through our faith-based farm initiatives.
Please consider donating to our cause and joining us to make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected community through the power of agriculture and education.
