Hello, we are the Youths and the Future of Cameroon.

We are the young people of Bafut and the Northwest Region, born into a land rich with royal heritage, ancestral wisdom, and unbreakable spirit — yet scarred by over a decade of conflict that the world has largely forgotten. More than 3,000 lives lost. Over 7,000 of us displaced. Schools burned. Families scattered into the bushes. Many of us grew up without consistent education, reliable internet, or hope that anyone beyond our borders even knows we exist.

But we refuse to be defined by this crisis.

We are the daughters and sons of kings and farmers, storytellers and innovators. We carry the knowledge of our ancestors — the ones who preserved history through crafts, symbols, and proverbs when there were no books. We believe, as our Princess Abumbi Prudence teaches us: "Technology did not come to abolish indigenous knowledge. Technology came to upgrade it." We are not waiting for rescue. We are building our own future, brick by brick, story by story, and skill by skill.

Who We Are & What We Are Doing

Through our organization, Youths and the Future, we are:

Learning vocational skills in arts, crafts, music, fashion, mechanics, agriculture, and more — so we can create jobs instead of begging for them.

Developing our talents through storytelling, journalism workshops, cultural parades, and talent shows — so the world finally hears our voices, not just outsiders' versions of our pain.

Supporting internally displaced people with material help, education, and moral strength.

Reconnecting with our roots through permaculture, traditional food preservation, and community healing.

Our biggest dream right now is the Royals Echo Village Bafut — a living, regenerative center where indigenous wisdom meets modern tools. It will include:

This is not just a village. It is our monument to hope — a model that can be replicated across Africa and beyond. A place where we turn survival into sovereignty.

Why We Need Your Help

We are on the ground doing the work every day, but we cannot do it alone. Funding for humanitarian aid in our region is critically low (83% unfunded). Schools lack basic equipment. Many of us lack tools, materials, internet access, and startup capital for the businesses we are trained to build.

Vocational training programs and tools for hundreds of youths

Media equipment so we can document and share our own realities

Humanitarian support for displaced families and children

Sustainable income projects that reduce our dependence on outside aid
