My 11 year old daughter Zara Rose is being prevented from attending Immaculate Heart Middle, which is in the top 20% of private schools in the state of California. We got the highest award in financial aid and my parents agreed to pay the remaining tuition amount. Unfortunately, her father is forcing her to attend a public school she does not want to go to. My ex-husband has a powerful attorney and because of the disparity in our incomes, I have been appearing in family court pro-se for the past two years. Now we NEED an attorney. My ex tried to hit me with his car back in May, while Zara was in the car with him. I filed a restraining order him that was dropped because Zara was the only witness. He is seeking revenge by hurting us with his use of legal control (preventing our summer vacations plans and her from going to a school she got accepted to, that he wouldn't even have to pay for) We need money for a retainer for an attorney to represent us. This for my daughter as he is also not supportive of her acting, something that she really loves. Please help us gain the freedom to live our lives without his abuse and control. There is no sane person in Los Angeles who would choose to have their child attend a public school when there is an option for a private school (which would be free for him). Zara and I share a one bedroom apartment and live very modestly; but her education is something I have always given her the best of us.
