Help Empower Young Men in Liberia Through Soccer
My girlfriend, who is Liberian, used to say, “I can’t explain Liberia to you — you have to experience it.” After spending three weeks there, I finally understand what she meant.
Trying to describe what I felt, saw, and learned would never do the experience — or Liberia — justice.
But what I can share is what moved me to take action.
During my trip, I met Christen and Mason — two incredible young Liberian men who run a local soccer team called The Mighty Eagles. In a place where day-to-day survival is a constant challenge, these two aren’t just looking out for themselves — they’re volunteering their time and efforts in creating a safe, positive space where young men can find hope, discipline, and purpose through the game of soccer.
Their commitment inspired me. This is about more than just a sport — it’s about building community, offering young people real alternatives, and showing that even in tough circumstances, leadership and vision can make a difference.
I was so moved that I decided to help them raise $950 to buy soccer cleats and jerseys for the team — and to commit to being a regular sponsor to help sustain their efforts.
My nephew, Tejas was also inspired and donated $300 to support the cause.
Now, we’re raising the remaining $650 to meet our goal.
If you’ve ever believed in the power of sports to uplift, unite, and transform — please consider donating. Any amount helps.
Your contribution will directly support young Liberian men who are doing the hard work of building something bigger than themselves.
Thank you for your support — and for being part of something meaningful.
