My name is Coach Amber, and for the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a dance coach for high schoolers at the Boys & Girls Club. Dance has always been more than movement to me, it’s confidence, it’s healing, it’s sisterhood, and it’s a safe space where young girls can discover who they are and what they’re capable of.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of having my own dance team and eventually my own studio. A place where girls could walk in feeling unsure and walk out feeling powerful. A place built on unity, love, discipline, and joy.

Recently, that dream started to take shape most unexpectedly.

Some of you may know me from TikTok, where I posted a simple video of a few girls dancing in my apartment. What started as a small moment of fun turned into something much bigger — the video went viral, and people from all over began asking how they could support these girls and help us grow.

That outpouring of love reminded me that sometimes the world sees your purpose before you do.

I decided to take this moment as a sign to finally step forward and build the dance team I’ve always envisioned. Right now, I’m coaching these amazing young ladies out of my apartment, doing everything I can with what we have. But to truly give them the experience they deserve, we need proper equipment and resources — things like pom‑poms, shoes, matching shirts and shorts, practice gear, and eventually a space we can call our own.

These girls are talented, dedicated, and full of potential. They show up ready to learn, ready to grow, and ready to support one another. Watching them build confidence, form friendships, and create a true sisterhood is the reason I do what I do. I love working with kids, and I believe deeply in creating environments where they feel special, valued, and unstoppable.
