Hello, my name is Maura McMichael. I am a middle school art teacher in Oakland. Our campus has a beautiful array of murals celebrating our diversity.

We have a mural that featured the farm workers movement that needs some updating. Dolores Huerta shared her story earlier this year about her abuses within that movement. This mural is approximately 20ft tall and 60 ft wide. The plan is to keep her portrait as the predominant focus of the mural but to paint over and change the surrounding surfaces.

My 8th grade students would love to complete this MASSIVE project before graduating this year. And to do that we will need the funds to be able to buy the supplies needed. This opportunity will allow our 8th graders to leave their mark on our school before they graduate
