We’re two high school students, Fajar Jawad and Aanya Agrawal, and we started Threads of Tomorrow because we believe every woman deserves the opportunity to build her own future.
The idea all began when we heard a story of a woman in Pakistan whose husband was unable to work. She had no sustainable income and was struggling to put food on the table. Unfortunately, her story is not uncommon. Thousands of women in Pakistan face financial hardship every single day. Not because they lack the talent or drive, but because they lack opportunity.
That’s why we created Threads of Tomorrow — to help women gain financial independence through sewing and embroidery. Our goal is to start with a 3-month sewing course where women will learn how to sew, cut, and tailor. These essential skills will later allow them to move into embroidery work. They will then be able to create and sell their own handcrafted pieces, allowing them to build a sustainable income.
We’re currently raising $2,000 to help cover rent, utilities, sewing machines, chairs, materials, teacher salaries, and daily food for the students. Every dollar brings us closer to opening our first training space and changing lives.
