Our Story:
Ireland in Arabic was born out of a deep need to support and integrate vulnerable Arabic-speaking migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers into Irish society. Since our inception in 2017, we have operated as a volunteer-driven initiative, providing vital information and resources through our 24/7 Arabic news platform and our radio station, Arab FM. Our mission is to bridge the cultural gap, promote mutual understanding, and ensure that every member of our community feels welcome and supported.
Despite our efforts and dedication, we have faced significant challenges due to the lack of a permanent office space and the necessary equipment to enhance our operations. We have been running our services remotely, relying on the incredible commitment of our volunteers. Now, we are at a pivotal moment where we need your help to take Ireland in Arabic to the next level. To achieve this, we aim to raise €28,500 to cover the initial operating costs for the first year.
Why We Need Your Support:
Our goal is to raise €28,500 to establish a permanent office in Ireland and equip it with the necessary tools and technology. This will allow us to:
Enhance Our Services: With a dedicated office, we can produce higher-quality content, expand our radio programming, and provide more comprehensive support to our community.
Empower Women and Children: We aim to offer specialized workshops that empower women, particularly those from the Middle East, by educating them about their rights and available support services. Additionally, we want to create programs that help children integrate into the Irish educational system and society.
Strengthen Community Engagement: A physical space will enable us to host in-person events, cultural activities, and training sessions, fostering a stronger sense of community and belonging.
Our Impact:
News Platform: Our 24/7 Arabic news platform provides critical information, including translations of Irish news and original content that addresses the needs and concerns of the Arabic-speaking community.
Radio Station: Arab FM broadcasts a mix of service, entertainment, and educational programs, promoting social, health, and security awareness.
Workshops and Training: We organize sessions on Irish laws, societal norms, and cultural integration, helping migrants and refugees understand their rights and responsibilities.
A Personal Story:
Let me share the story of Amal, a woman from Morocco who found herself in a difficult situation here in Ireland. She faced domestic abuse and was unaware of her rights. Through Ireland in Arabic, she reached out to us, and we provided her with the necessary information and support. We assigned a volunteer to help her access the services she needed, ensuring her safety and empowering her to take control of her life. Amal’s story is just one of many, highlighting the vital role our organization plays in the lives of so many.
