Empower T’Kye's Mission to Improve Global Health

Hello Family, Friends, and Supporters!

My name is T’Kye Presley, and I am a senior Nursing student and ROTC cadet at North Carolina A&T State University. Many of you know how much I love helping others through healthcare, and this year, I have been blessed with two opportunities! I will be traveling to Panama with Global Medical Brigades (GMB) and to Guatemala as a team leader for VAW Global Health Alliances. These trips will allow me to provide life-changing medical care and build sustainable health solutions for people who need it most.

Panama Mission Trip

In Panama, I will be working with Global Medical Brigades to provide free healthcare to families who have little to no access to medical services. Our team will conduct health checkups, teach families about hygiene and disease prevention, perform vision screenings, distribute glasses, and provide hygiene kits and medicine. For many of these individuals, this is the only medical care they receive all year. Simple treatments like antibiotics, blood pressure checks, and glasses can make a huge difference in their quality of life. Last year, in Belize, I saw firsthand how much this work impacts families, and I am excited to continue this mission in Panama.

Guatemala Internship

In Guatemala, I will be serving as a team leader for VAW Global Health Alliances, where our focus is on creating long-term solutions to improve community health. Instead of just bringing medical care for a short time, we will be building water filters so families have clean drinking water, constructing bathrooms and latrines to prevent disease, and planting gardens to fight malnutrition. These projects ensure that even after we leave, the community has the tools and resources to live healthier, safer lives. As a leader, I will be guiding and supporting my team to make sure our work is impactful and sustainable.

Last year, your generosity helped me embark on a life-changing journey to Belize, and I cannot thank you enough. Your support made an impact far beyond me, it touched the lives of so many who needed it most. I’m asking for your help one more time to make this year’s missions possible.

This will likely be my last time fundraising for trips like these, after this, I’ll be stepping into my career as 2LT Presley, Military Nurse Corps! But until then, I still have work to do. If you find it in your heart to contribute, know that you’re not just donating, you’re investing in global healthcare, in underserved communities, and in a future nurse who is dedicated to making a difference.
