The pandemic has severely disrupted education, leading to a surge in teenage pregnancies and significantly increasing the dropout rate among our children. Amidst these struggles, the specter of poverty looms larger than ever, pushing teenagers into early marriages and depriving them of the opportunity to learn and grow.

Introducing Kagadi - Kyenzige Skilling Centre: A Beacon of Hope

With a firm belief in the power of education and skill development, we've initiated the Kagadi - Kyenzige Skilling Centre. Our mission is straightforward yet transformative: to offer single teen mothers and other vulnerable youth a pathway to empowerment through skill training. We focus on tailoring, modern farming techniques, and computer literacy, equipping them with the tools they need to forge a better future.

Our approach goes beyond traditional education. By providing practical skills, we aim to break the cycle of poverty that has ensnared our community for generations. Our program includes:

• Tailoring Training: Creating opportunities in the local and broader market for handmade garments.

• Agricultural Skills: Teaching sustainable farming practices and providing starter kits of hatched chickens or piglets to nurture a culture of self-sufficiency.

• Computer Literacy: Opening the door to the digital world for marketing and expanding their ventures.

Beyond Skills: Empowerment and Health

Understanding the multifaceted nature of our community's challenges, our vision encompasses comprehensive support:

• Empowerment Programs: Offering guidance, counselling, and personal development training to rebuild self-esteem and foster a sense of community.

• Health Centre Initiative: Our long-term goal includes establishing a health center focused on addressing pressing medical needs, with an attached training facility for nursing and midwifery, thus nurturing a healthier future.
