Hello, my name is Kari. I am based in the U.S., and I am organizing this campaign on behalf of Rima, who is still trapped in a war zone. Rima and Diana are close personal friends, and I am creating this campaign to ensure they can get the resources they need for living expenses and their education.

At the start of this campaign, we were focusing on Rima's educational goals and expenses. We achieved those over the last two years of fundraising, and now her sister Diana has her own opportunity to get an education. I am updating this description to give more details on Diana's story and situation. The previous description written by Rima will still be included at the end.

Diana's Story:

Diana was 17 and was just about to complete her final year of high school when the war in Gaza began.

Her entire world was turned upside down. Her bond with her sister was what kept her going. While her sister pressed on with her plans to attend university in the UK, Diana spent hours studying even though she had no school to attend.

Classes were indefinitely on hold, but she knew she had to be ready to take her final exams whenever they were offered again. It took two years for Diana to be allowed to take them. Her dedication to studying paid off, and she passed!

Her sister's dedication also paid off, and she was accepted to a university in the UK. It was difficult for Diana to adjust to life in Gaza without her after her sister evacuated; however, it was also a beacon of hope. It could be done.

Her sister had forged a path ahead, and Diana knew she could forge her own alongside it. She knew she had to study hard for her English exam and apply for her own courses. It was difficult, but not impossible.

She was accepted into undergraduate programs in the UK, including a foundation year. This is where we stand today.

She needs to raise tuition and living expenses to keep her offer. She wants to reunite with her sister, but more than anything, she wants the chance to study and build a future on her own merit. She's earned the opportunities, but she needs the support and tools to act on them.

Let's break down what that means:

£220 admin fee and £244.72 for insurance

£4,214 deposit to secure her place

She must pay the above before 23 Oct 2026 to keep her £6,000 scholarship

The foundation year is about 12k pounds.

Right now we have a domestic tuition fee reduction from the uni that puts costs at about 9.7K pounds per year for tuition.

Living costs for every year are 10.5k pounds

Rima’s Story in Brief:

Hello, my name is Rima, and I am 21 years old. I previously launched a campaign for me and my sister to help us escape from here and continue our education, as it is our only weapon as two women alone. However, after problems with the person running my former campaign and no assistance from gfm to resolve it, I refuse to give up.

Now, I have decided to create new hope. I am calling on all the kind hearts in this world to be my family and my support.

I am not asking for charity; I am asking for a chance at life.

I want to complete my studies and become the first software engineer in my family, and I want my sister to finish high school. We only seek survival.

I appeal to your humanity—please do not leave me alone after all we have endured.

Thank you.
