My name is James, and I am a teacher and aspiring permaculturist in Punta Gorda, FL. I am passionate about bringing food security to our community and am starting an organization to educate and empower members of our community to grow their own food and become more food secure.

Abundance Punta Gorda will empower families to grow food, care for the Earth, and strengthen our local food systems.

My long-term goal is to build a small forest on a city lot in Punta Gorda, so members of the community have a space to gather as a community and learn about ways to grow and share food using both conventional and permaculture techniques.

This fundraiser will raise money for startup costs for the nonprofit, including filing fees, attorney fees, and accounting fees. Any funds leftover will be used as seed money for the nonprofit, including gardening supplies and our eventual goal of purchasing a piece of land to serve as our food forest and teaching space.
