Empower Madeleine to Break the Cycle
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Madeleine, and I am a 24-year-old single mother fighting to keep my daughter safe and with me. I had my daughter at 18, and since then, I've been navigating the complexities of motherhood and personal growth. I was working in Colorado, earning a livable wage, but took an extreme pay cut to move to Louisiana to be closer to my extended family, as my parents are seeking custody of my daughter.
My mother has a documented history of abusive behavior, including physical, emotional, financial, and psychological abuse. My parents are using the legal system to further their control over me and my daughter.
Over the past year, my extended family has been my pillar of strength, assisting with basic living expenses and covering substantial legal fees when they didn't have to, but chose to out of love and support. Despite their help, I find myself at a crossroads.
I've exhausted all personal financial resources: my credit cards are maxed out, I've withdrawn my entire 401(k), and taken out multiple loans. Yet, I still owe the final portion of my legal retainer and need to repay my family for their support. Without assistance, I cannot move forward.
The father of my child does not provide financial support, and the weight of this burden has been overwhelming. Admitting that I can't do this alone is humbling and embarrassing. But for the sake of my daughter and our future, I am reaching out.
I am not just seeking financial relief; I am striving to break the cycle of generational trauma and build a stable, hopeful future for my child. Your support would not only help us overcome this immediate hardship but also empower us to rewrite our life.
Any contribution, no matter how small, would make a world of difference. If you're unable to donate, sharing this campaign within your network would also be incredibly helpful.
