About Foaster Foundation

Foaster Foundation for Healthcare Uganda is an LGBT+ led community-rooted health organisation working to improve access to quality healthcare for vulnerable populations across Uganda. In partnership with the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI), Foaster Foundation supports health promotion, community outreach, and evidence-based programming that strengthens wellbeing for all, particularly those in key population groups such as LGBT+ people.

Why We Need Your Support

In January 2025, Foaster Foundation proudly opened a new community clinic—an essential space providing treatment, health education, counseling, and preventative care to underserved groups, including LGBT+ people who may be denied care elsewhere. The clinic has quickly become a trusted resource for people who otherwise face significant barriers to healthcare.

However, recent PEPFAR-related funding disruptions in the United States have had severe ripple effects on health organisations across Uganda. These shifts have reduced critical support streams that Foaster Foundation relied on to launch and sustain lifesaving services. The clinic is now facing financial strain at the very moment its services are most needed.
