What we are working on….
I’m raising funds to help a community project in Lesotho that supports nearly 30 children and employs local community members. Since 2006, this work has been led by Rasta Mpikete, a social activist living with HIV, who turned his own struggle into strength—caring first for children who lost parents to HIV, and now for kids across the community who simply need support.
As his Nokaneng backpackers hostel grows, it doubles as a lifeline: the income helps feed, clothe, and educate the children. With the right boost, this project can become fully self-sufficient and continue uplifting the community for generations.
Right now, we are focused on critical upgrades and renovations that will secure the future of both the children’s program and the backpackers business, including:
• Reconstruction of the bath
rooms to provide clean, safe facilities.
• Upgrades to the guest units for backpackers, making them more welcoming and sustainable.
• Regular upkeep and improvements at the school that provides education for the children.
• General repairs and improvements that ensure the entire project continues to grow.
I’m here on the ground helping with marketing and building the tools they need to stand strong on their own. Your contribution is not charity—it’s fuel for self-sufficiency and hope.
