My name is Aniela and I'm bringing awareness to the situation of my dear friend Lamin in The Gambia. I met Lamin online through shared love of our Lord Jesus. He also shared with me life in The Gambia. It is the smallest country in Africa located in the North West. His story touched my heart. There is only so much I can do for him so he's graciously asked me to open a GoFundMe to reach more people and bring awareness about the struggles living in the Gambia. This family's immediate daily need is food.

"My name is lamin darboe , I am from the smiling coast of west Africa , The Gambia .

Am the first son of my parents and having siblings number of 4 and me being a male child has to take life serious and sacrifice a lot of efforts in making sure I goes to school and with intention of completing it but unfortunately that did not happen , things begins to take a new turn in my life , one faithful day I heard the shocking news of my life , as that day when my dad who was a driver went out along side with my mom on the way back home is when they ran into horrible accident which took both of their lives at the spot , i cannot forget the incident and how devastating I was all hope was lose the world feels empty to me as this young age experiencing such tragedy of losing both parents , the first thing that comes to my mind is how we going to cope with life feeding and clothing the basic needs who would provide it , losing my parents has affected my life and education because I have dream and passion for education my dream is to become a journalist which I am not able to achieve still now , because now i am alone in this world i have become my siblings mother and father , everyday I struggle and go out there do some minor job get paid just to get food my siblings to eat not to die of hunger , sometimes I won’t get any job to do not everyone is good and kind with me , I often go to bed empty stomach sacrificing myself for my siblings to live and feel happy , Right now I am facing challenges in life things are hard on me my siblings and even the neighbors around me are facing challenges of food , clothes and water I am not seeking help only for me and my family both people around me too are going through tough time which is why nobody can help another , as the bible says love your neighbor as you love yourself and also saying goes whoever is kind to the poor lend to the lord he would reward them whatever the never imagine right now need help of basic things of life from good and kind people around the world no amount is small this would be a life changing for me and my people around we seeking help of USD 10,000 for food, clothes , shelter , medicals bills for everyone around the community to benefits and experience good life and comfort I want to thank each and everyone for their love and support would go a long way may the good lord continue to bless you all!!!"

I pray this campaign reaches far and wide to all corners of the earth! Poverty affects so many people, and in The Gambia it is a way of life for a large portion of the people. Lamin sincerely wants to empower himself and not be limited by the tragic accident that changed his family and his life.
