About Katwe Parkour Culture

Katwe Parkour Culture is a non-profit initiative founded by Raki in the heart of Katwe, Kampala, Uganda. This movement leverages the dynamic discipline of parkour to inspire, empower, and uplift youth in under-served communities.

We believe that movement is freedom and that through parkour anyone can learn discipline, creativity, and self-confidence.

Katwe Parkour Culture has over 20 kids, most of them young boys and girls from the slums of Katwe, along with 10 youth and adult volunteers who guide, teach, and mentor them. Many of our members come from underprivileged backgrounds, but when they step into training, they find a family, a dream, and a purpose.

Through parkour, we teach teamwork, balance, fitness, and resilience — but most importantly, we show that even in a place with limited resources, you can build something powerful from passion and community spirit.

We train on rough ground, often with no mats or proper equipment, yet our determination keeps us going. Our dream is to build safe, creative parkour structures made from local materials and provide training shoes, clothing, mats, and gear so that everyone, especially the young ones, can train safely and grow their skills.

We are raising $3,000 to build DIY parkour equipment, buy basic training shoes and mats, and make our space safer for the kids to grow their skills.

List of the items we need

  • Gear - such as shoes and clothing
  • Safety mats
  • Swing rail bars
  • Balance beams
  • Training vaults, made in DIY style. To make the vaults we will need materials like wood, boards, nails, and screws

Every donation, no matter how small, helps us create a safer training space, buy basic training equipment, and keep inspiring more youth to join.

Together, we can turn Katwe Parkour Culture into a symbol of hope, movement, and empowerment for the next generation. Thank you for believing in us.

I'm honored to present this fundraiser for Raki - an exceptional and creative athlete seeking to share his skills with others. I'd like to thank Rachel Portesi - the mastermind behind the visual presentation. Your donations will come to me through GoFundMe and I will transfer them to Uganda.
