Help a Devoted Single Mom Become a Nurse and Change Lives
Hi, my name is Jennifer, and I’m a single mom of four amazing young children for whom I have 100% custody. I work as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and I’m currently pursuing my dream of becoming a registered nurse to support my family. I’m starting this GoFundMe to ask for help getting through nursing school while continuing to care for my kids, work, and overcome the many challenges we face as a family. I recently left a long-term physically and emotionally abusive relationship and am starting over. I’m asking for your help with my reboot to life.
Nursing isn’t just a career goal — it’s my calling. I’ve spent the last few years caring for others as a CNA, and I’ve seen firsthand how compassion and skilled care can make all the difference. I want to become the kind of nurse who brings comfort, strength, and hope to every patient and family she meets.
As a single parent, I carry the full responsibility of raising my children, providing them with stability, and ensuring they have what they need to thrive. I work hard every day, but even with my job, it’s difficult to cover all the costs of school, books, childcare, transportation, and living expenses — especially while juggling kid activities, healthcare appointments, playdates, nursing school classes, and my own work.
Despite the obstacles, I’m determined to succeed. I’m taking courses through Lake Superior College for their Nursing Program and have applied to scholarships. I’m eagerly awaiting the results. I’ve created a structured routine to balance parenting, work, and classes. I’m not giving up — because I’m doing this not only for me, but for my children’s future.
That’s why I’m asking for your support. Your donation will help cover:
- Tuition, books, and school fees
- Childcare while I attend classes and clinicals
- Transportation and basic living expenses during reduced work hours
- Emergency needs to help keep us stable and moving forward
Any amount helps, and every share brings us closer to making this dream a reality. If you’ve ever been helped by a nurse, please consider helping a future one get there.
Thank you for believing in me. I promise to pay this kindness forward in every patient I care for, every life I touch, and in the example I set for my children — to never give up, and to always help others.
With love and gratitude,
Jennifer
