Empower Indigenous Girls: Support the Ribbons Bursary!

My name is Emma Morrison, and I am honored to be the first Indigenous woman to win Miss World Canada. As part of my time serving as queen, I have developed a "Beauty with a Purpose" project that is deeply personal to me: giving back to the community that supported me throughout my journey. Through this initiative, I am proud to launch the “Ribbons Bursary,” which aims to uplift and empower Indigenous girls at Chapleau Elementary Public School, where my own educational path began. This project is my way of helping the next generation of Indigenous leaders thrive, just as my community helped me.

Studies show that Indigenous women face unique barriers in education, with only 10% of Indigenous people in Canada holding a university degree, compared to 28% of non-Indigenous people. The Ribbons Bursary is designed to help break these barriers by supporting First Nations, Inuit, and Métis girls enrolled full-time at Chapleau Elementary. Through your generous donations on GoFundMe, we can provide these young leaders with the encouragement, resources, and financial support they need to succeed academically and personally. Any amount, large or small, will make a meaningful difference. Thank you for helping us empower the future of Indigenous girls through education.
