The Global Acupuncture Project (GAP https://globalacupuncture.org/) recruits acupuncturists from around the world who want to make a lasting change to health services in developing countries. Volunteer acupuncturists travel to specific target communities where GAP has been invited and train the local health-care providers. At the completion of the trainings, GAP maintains contact with the communities to provide ongoing support and continuing education.
GAP has been invited to support women's healthcare workers in Guatemala. An initial 3 trainings took place since September of 2024. This September, as an OBAA (Obstetrical Birth Acupuncture Association, https://ob-acupuncture.com/) member, myself and 2 colleagues will travel to teach obstetrical acupuncture to midwives at Intuición Materna ( https://intuicionmaterna.org/ ) in Guatemala City.
I have been practicing acupuncture for 14 years and specialize in women's health, fertility and pregnancy. Through my practice, I have seen how acupuncture can improve the health of both mother and baby during pregnancy.
By contributing to this go fund me you are enabiling me to take part in this mission and helping me cover costs such as lodging, airfare and loss of income.
