Gio Camarro is a bright, motivated Deaf student with a growing passion for connecting with others and discovering his strengths. This summer, Gio has the incredible opportunity to attend a two-week session at Camp Isola Bella in Connecticut—a unique camp designed specifically for Deaf and hard of hearing teens.

Camp Isola Bella’s philosophy is “learning through experience.” Through hands-on activities, peer connection, and supportive guidance, campers are encouraged to set goals, challenge themselves, and discover their own abilities. The camp fosters self-esteem and confidence by creating meaningful social experiences, where campers are surrounded by encouragement, understanding, and a shared language.

For Gio, this is more than just a summer camp—it’s a chance to build lasting friendships with other Deaf teens, strengthen his identity, and grow in independence and confidence. Experiences like this are powerful and often life-changing, especially for students who thrive in environments where communication is fully accessible and inclusive.
