Hi, I’m Cheska, the founder of Kuya Ate.
I started this program because I know what it feels like to grow up searching for guidance, for someone to believe in you, and for someone to remind you that your dreams are valid. Growing up between cultures, I saw how powerful mentorship can be. One conversation, one person, one moment of encouragement can change the direction of someone’s life.
Kuya Ate connects Filipino American college students with youth in the Philippines to provide free mentorship, guidance, and support. We are building more than a program. We are building a community rooted in care, identity, and the spirit of bayanihan.
Right now, I am raising funds to take the next step and make Kuya Ate an official nonprofit organization. These funds will help cover the legal costs to register the organization, support our coordinator in the Philippines who works closely with students on the ground, and build a foundation for our long term goal of providing scholarships to youth who deserve opportunities but may not have access to them.
This mission is deeply personal to me. I believe that when you invest in one young person, you impact a family, a community, and eventually a generation.
If you choose to support Kuya Ate, you are not just donating. You are helping a student feel seen, supported, and capable of building a future they once thought was out of reach.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
