Celebrating Dortell Williams
Taming Trauma: Launching a Movement for Healing and Justice
We are Taming Trauma (tamingtrauma.org), a transformative justice organization dedicated to changing lives and healing communities. To achieve this, we advocate for legislation that prevents trauma; we train organizations to be trauma-informed and victim/survivor-centered; we facilitate community healing pods, and facilitate personal transformation for incarcerated persons.
Taming Trauma is the vision of Dortell Williams, an incarcerated person dedicated to creating a world free from interpersonal harm. Together with a community of organizations, family, and friends, we stand united in supporting Dortell's mission to cultivate empathy and spread awareness of trauma-informed intervention.
We warmly invite you, our broader community, to join us in this transformative journey through volunteerism and a tax-exempt donation to this campaign. Together we can transcend our current cold culture for one of healing, hope, and warmth.
Volunteers can support in the following ways:
• Provide requested Google and other searches
• Interviewers for occasional expert interviews
• Amateur pictures of nature for workbooks and curriculum
• People experienced in posting on social media
• People experienced with healing circles
• Link us to organizations with like missions
• Businesses with fitting services advertise on our site.
