Empower Change: Support My Journey to Kenya 2026!
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Thalia, and I'm 14 years old. I study at Allerton High School, and in the summer of 2026, I’ll be part of a group from Camps International heading to Kenya for a 4-week expedition.
My school has given me an incredible opportunity to participate in a Camps International expedition to Kenya in July 2026. This experience isn't just about adventure; it's a chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of local communities and wildlife.
During this 4-week expedition, I'll be involved in various projects. For the community project, we’ll work on building classrooms, renovating community buildings, and installing water storage systems. I'll immerse myself in the local culture by learning Swahili, taking cooking lessons, teaching English to children, and enjoying football matches.
In the environmental project, I'll engage in hands-on activities like tree planting and goat deworming with locals. We’ll also focus on wildlife conservation by creating elephant deterrent fences to protect crops, and participate in workshops to make paper from elephant dung, which helps provide income for the community.
The adventure includes a scuba-diving experience through stunning Kenyan ocean, earning my PADI scuba ceritificate!
However, the communities I’ll be working with face challenges due to drought and wildlife damage to crops, making food scarce. To join this expedition, I need to raise £4,900. Your support would mean so much because I genuinely want to make a difference. Although it will be hard work, it will help many people in need.
I’ll also be contributing in fundraising events such as selling refreshments at school events and much more. I have a long way to go, but with your help, I know I can make it happen!
Thank you so much for reading this, and I hope you’ll consider donating to this cause. I would be incredibly thankful, as would the local communities in Kenya.
