Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: Cape Coral Youth Council Returns to Washington, D.C.!

Last March, nine exceptional high school students from Cape Coral’s Youth Council had the incredible opportunity to attend the National League of Cities Youth Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.—and the experience was nothing short of transformative.

From engaging in meaningful discussions on public policy to exploring our nation’s history firsthand, these students strengthened their leadership skills, built lasting connections with peers from across the country, and returned home inspired to make an even greater impact in our community.

Now, we’re excited to do it again.

As we prepare for next year’s conference, we are launching a new fundraising effort to ensure the next group of Youth Council members has the same life-changing opportunity. Since 2017, the Youth Council has played a vital role in advising City leaders on issues affecting our young residents, while empowering students through leadership development, civic engagement, and professional growth.

This trip is more than just travel—it’s an investment in the future of Cape Coral.
