Help Bethany Compete at the World’s Strongman Competition in Ireland!

Hi, my name is Amy, and I’m writing this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister, Bethany Beard.

Bethany just received an official invitation to compete in the World’s Strongman Competition by Static Monsters, taking place in Dublin, Ireland this August 2025. She is currently ranked 54th in the world—an incredible accomplishment! However, with the competition so close, she hasn’t had the time to save for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

I know many people ask for help for their loved ones, but let me tell you why Bethany truly deserves your support.

Bethany is a Registered Nurse who works in a local nursing home. She has dedicated her life to caring for others. But sadly, she’s often unfairly judged for her appearance. She’s nearly 6 feet tall, with a strong build, and people sometimes see her as intimidating. What they don’t see is her kind, compassionate heart.

Bethany has faced bullying for her size her entire life—throughout school she endured taunts, beatings, and cruelty. Yet, she never fought back. Instead, she chose kindness. She began her career as a paramedic, and later became a nurse. She has worked in emergency rooms, trauma centers, pediatric ERs, and now helps care for seniors in nursing homes. Behind her powerful frame is a woman of incredible strength, inside and out.

A few years ago, Bethany discovered the world of Strongman competitions. For the first time, she found a place where her size and strength were celebrated—not judged. She didn’t have to change to fit in. The Strongman community embraced her for who she is and helped her build confidence and self-acceptance.

She shares her journey on TikTok (@thesdarn) and Instagram (@thesie), inspiring others. Despite receiving cruel comments online like "fat people don’t belong in gyms," she continues to rise above the negativity and stays focused on her goals. She lifts heavy, flips tires, pulls trucks—and is now training to flip a car!

Bethany competes because it makes her feel empowered, not because she’s trying to fit anyone else’s mold. She is strong, beautiful, intelligent, and resilient—a role model for girls and women everywhere.

I am so proud of her and excited for this opportunity. I wish I could fund this entire trip myself, but I can’t. I’m asking for your help to make her dream come true.
