Upskill Beirut youth to exit poverty

Tax deductible
Bedayati’s mission is to empower marginalized youth, addressing the barriers that prevent young people in Lebanon from accessing decent employment. Our empowerment program provides women and youth with a second chance at education and skills training, customized to individual needs.

Bedayati launched its Community Kitchen in Beirut, Lebanon in 2020. As people struggled to cope with food price inflation and the loss of livelihoods, the Bedayati Kitchen provided a space where livelihoods could be restored, while providing families with temporary relief from the daily struggle of putting food on the table. Since then the Bedayati Kitchen has transitioned from a temporary popup community kitchen to a catering service and an aspiring training ground for women and youth who would like to work in the culinary space.

Since 2020 we have provided:

Upskilling: 182 youth have completed our foundational skills training program in English, digital literacy, financial literacy and soft skills. 24 women and youth completed our entrepreneurship program. Nine women and youth participated in a short professional training in pastry in 2023.

Economic empowerment: 60 women and youth have benefited from cash-for-work opportunities in our Community Kitchen. Eight entrepreneurs are/will be supported through zero-interest loans to set up their own home businesses in 2023.

Advocacy: Our Inclusive Employer Pledge invites employers to join a growing movement of Lebanese businesses who commit to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy and society. Pioneering employers have signed our Pledge including Bel Group, FDC, Cafe Younes and Cedar Environmental.

Community: The Bedayati Kitchen has distributed over 70,000 wholesome meals to those who need them the most in Lebanon.

We invite you to join us as we work to sustain youth aspirations, and raise critical funding in support of Bedayati’s mission.
