Empower Asia: Legal Aid for Expats and Entrepreneurs

A few years ago, I stood in a modest classroom in Sichuan, China, surrounded by children whose eyes held both dreams and doubts. I wasn’t just there to teach them, I was there to find purpose.
After losing my father and navigating a divorce, life had left me searching for meaning.
At that orphanage, welcomed by kids and teachers who felt forgotten, I realized something profound: hope isn’t just given; it’s built, one connection at a time.
That moment changed me. It’s why I’m here today, asking for your help to launch Empower Asia, a mission to bring free legal aid to expats and entrepreneurs across Asia who need it most.
I’m between other things, a law student in France, studying at Sorbonne, fueled by a belief in fairness that runs deep in my family. Growing up, I was shaped by stories of justice from someone close: a retired judge whose life taught me that the law isn’t just rules; it’s a way to lift people up.
That belief carried me through my own fight a few years back. I’d planned a dream trip to Thailand for my aunt and mom, but when we arrived at our hotel in Koh Lanta, it was shuttered. The booking platform, a corporate giant, refused to refund us, throwing every excuse in the book. I didn’t back down. Using my legal training, I took them to court in France and turned a $400 loss into a $5,000 victory. That win wasn’t just about money, it was about proving that one person can stand up to the big guys and win.
Now, I want to share that power with others. Across Asia, expats and small business owners face legal battles every day; shady landlords, unfair contracts, or suppliers who don’t deliver. They’re dreamers, like the kids I met in Sichuan, chasing a better life but stuck in a maze they can’t navigate alone. That’s where Empower Asia comes in. With your support, we’ll provide 100 free legal consultations and resolve 20 disputes over the next six months, giving people the tools to fight back. We’ll also create practical guides, like “How to Spot a Scam Contract,” so they can protect themselves long-term.
We’re starting with a $5,000 goal to build a virtual platform, spread the word, and deliver our first 10-15 consultations. Our full vision is $50,000 to reach 100 people and create lasting change. Every dollar will go to making this happen: $20,000 for tech, $15,000 for outreach, $10,000 for resources, and $5,000 to keep it running smoothly. I’m not doing this alone, my law school classmates in France are joining me, bringing their skills to make this bigger than just one person’s dream.
This isn’t just about legal aid; it’s about hope, fairness, and showing people they’re not alone. I’ve seen what a small act, like a kind word in a Sichuan classroom or a hard-fought court win, can do. It ripples. Your support can start that ripple for someone in Asia right now. Please donate today, share this campaign, and join us in building a fairer world, one case at a time. Thank you for believing in this, and for believing in me.
With sincerity,
Quentin
