***Update*** Read more about our effort on the Vail Daily website.
The Minturn Saloon is the most historic and legendary bar and restaurant in the Vail Valley. It is located at the end of the most well known “backcountry” ski run that can be accessed from Vail Mountain. The
Saloon is the top destination for skiers and snowboarders to finish their day on the slopes with a cocktail or ice cold beer for après ski.
Since The Minturn Saloon started in 1976 it has been a successful business that generations of families visit year after year.
In 1986 the current owners Andy Kaufman and Steve Campbell purchased the
restaurant. After 35 years of ownership, they have decided that it is time to sell The Saloon and retire.
Andy and Steve want The Minturn Saloon to be sold to new owners that will honor the spirit of a legendary bar and restaurant that is loved by local’s and tourists alike.
There is an extensive collection of
autographed memorabilia that includes presidents, astronauts, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Chevy Chase, Cheryl Tiegs, Tom Brokaw as well as sports legends such as Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, Wayne Gretsky, John Elway, John McEnroe, Jake Burton and Magic Johnson and much more.
There is a small group of employees including myself who would like to become owners. We are looking for people that would be willing to help us purchase the restaurant. We don't want to lose this local legend to someone that will try to change and therefore ruin what we all love.
Please help us Save the Saloon!
