Employee Fund for the NEW Georgetown Liquor Co

For many years, Highline and it's staff have been a beloved part of the vegan community. They have hosted a variety of fundraisers (film screenings, bingo and more!), meetups that serve to make our community stronger, and the restaurant has been a place where many vegans feel at home.
As many of you know, Highline has closed a couple of times during the pandemic to catch their breath. As a music venue first and foremost, trying to survive on strictly food sales has been hard on everyone who's remained on staff. It's a tough set up. During this break, the staff leader Alan has come upon an opportunity of his own. As many of you know, Georgetown Liquor Company closed down in September. Alan jumped at the opportunity to take over the space, as it's much more manageable and in the neighborhood where he lives. Long story short, he's left Highline and will be reopening GLC this winter. The remaining staff have chosen to pivot to this opportunity as well. While the future of Highline is unsure at this time, rest assured that Alan is redirecting his focus on this new project that will hopefully be around for years to come. Currently, Alan and his staff have been working hard on giving GLC a facelift and a NEW 100% vegan menu. There are still a few hurdles to cross before opening, and funds for the employees have dwindled so we're asking for monetary help for these fine people so they can continue the path of reopening GLC and not worry about having to find a new temporary job.
This is our amazing vegan community's opportunity to help save a great vegan joint and support our friends who have worked so hard to make this happen! We know times are hard for so many right now, but for those of us who are able to donate, please consider paying it forward for others who aren't able.
