Emotionally abused family seeks help with exit

Hi, we don’t know each other though my story is unfortunately all too common. It’s hard for me to accept what my son and I have been through to be real. But here we are. After 9 years of marriage, 8 years of couples counseling on and off and numerous avenues trying to find help within my marriage alone it became apparent that if I wanted the name calling, emotional abuse, financial abuse, and gaslighting to end that I had to get out with my son. Still playing nice and working to be amicable for our son, my ex has determined I owe him and is making threats about coming after me financially. I need legal council and an advocate to protect myself and my son’s future. I found someone who works to keep things peaceful and agreeable. But it comes with a price tag I can’t pull out of mutual funds.

Reaching my goal will ensure a safe placement for my son and I. And hopefully a clear and agreeable path for all parties involved.
