Emory ATO for Racial Justice

As members of the Alpha Theta Chapter of Alpha Tau Omega, we have come together to say enough is enough. The racial injustices experienced by the black community in America can no longer be tolerated. Although the recent murders of George Floyd and other African Americans have once again placed the issue in the headlines, we recognize that this is a result of deep-rooted systematic injustices. As a fraternity, we can no longer sit silently on the sidelines and hope for the best. We feel the need to take action. Our organization stands on the principles of teaching that “true men the world over should stand together and contend for supremacy of good over evil; to teach, not politics, but morals.” This is not a political issue; this is a human rights issue. For this reason, ATO has decided to use our platform and organize a fundraiser for the NAACP’s Legal Defense and Education Fund. Black Lives Matter.


The LDF is America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice. Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, the LDF seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial and social justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all. As our parents, friends, and alumni, please consider donating to this world-changing organization. Police brutality, racism, and systematic oppression cannot be tolerated. Systemic change will only come by successfully using existing levers of power. No organization has a stronger or more proven track record than the LDF.
