Emmett’s Journey Clarece Larry & Ian Rousseau
On February 16 2021 at 35 weeks Clarece Larry was sent to Alice Hyde hospital by her doctors office because she had noticed that her baby had not moved in quite some time. She had been having a hard pregnancy, starting on February 12 having to have daily stress tests and ultrasounds. After doing an ultrasound they rushed her in to have an emergency C-section the cord was wrapped around the babies neck cutting off oxygen. Her body was rejecting the placenta, she has severe preeclampsia, and infection, and high blood pressure that they could not get under control.
Emmett Rousseau was born weighing 4 lbs. 5 oz. When mom came out of ICU where she was placed after the delivery Clarece and her fiancé Ian Rousseau had to painfully say goodbye to their newborn baby boy as he made the journey to Albany medical in New York. Wrapped in cooling blankets to bring the swelling down in his brain so it could be monitored an MRI when he got there.
Many tests have been done since then with the most recent’s and the most concerning being the latest MRI of the brain they have found two spots. One side is a blood clot that they are trying to dissolve with medication. He receives two shots daily for it and will need to receive those shots for quite some time. The other side is bleeding on the brain that they are just watching at this time and hoping it will just stop. They tell mom and dad it is common with babies that have had lack of oxygen.
Withh all the uncertainty Emmettes platelets and weight are both increasing which is very good news. We are taking it day by day and not yet sure when we’ll be able to bring our sweet boy home says mom.
Their family is asking for donations for everything for them being away from home is expensive the medical aspect will be expensive and not knowing what will be could be expensive many have asked what you could do so we created this to be able to help them thank you all for your love and support and we will keep you all updated.
