Emma's Memory Making Mission

Donation protected

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.

I have been asked to set up this page for my brother Jamie, his wife Emma, and their two children, Katie (15) and Ted (9).

Emma has been bravely battling triple negative breast cancer since 2021. After years of treatment, her most recent course ended in 2024 and we hoped they could begin to move forward. She continued attending regular check-ups.

Devastatingly, following a delay in the follow-up of one of her scans, Emma and Jamie have now received the heartbreaking news that her cancer has spread to multiple organs.

As a family, we are completely devastated. In many ways we feel helpless — but we know one thing with certainty:

Time is precious.

Right now, what matters most is giving Emma the opportunity to spend meaningful, stress-free, quality time with Jamie, Katie and Ted. To make memories that will last a lifetime. To focus on love, not logistics. On moments, not money.

Emma has worked for the NHS for over 20 years, supporting people in their recovery from mental health challenges. She has dedicated her career to helping others through their darkest times.

It is incredibly difficult to process that in her own hour of need, she was let down. But this page is not about blame.

It’s about love.
It’s about support.
It’s about community.

A Family at the Heart of the Football Community

Football has always been a priority in Emma and Jamie’s life. They met through going to watch Hull City, and have been season ticket holders since the Boothferry Park days. Their shared love of football has been a constant throughout their relationship and family life.

That love has naturally passed on to their children.

Emma, Jamie, Katie and Ted are well known within the local football community across Hull and Yorkshire. Both Katie and Ted play in the Junior Premier League as well as grassroots teams. Most evenings and weekends are spent travelling to training sessions and matches — something Emma has always prioritised, no matter how difficult her treatment became.

Despite everything she has faced, the children have never missed a game or a training session. That is a testament to Emma’s strength, determination, and unwavering love for her family.

Why We Are Asking for Help

As a family, we know Emma and Jamie would never ask for financial help themselves.

But right now, financial support would:
• Relieve pressure and day-to-day stress
• Allow Emma to explore alternative or complementary therapies
• Help with travel and treatment costs
• Provide special family experiences and memory-making opportunities
• Create breathing space so they can focus on being together

Time is the most precious gift, and we want Emma’s time to be filled with love, comfort, and moments her children will carry with them forever.

How You Can Help

If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it will mean more than we can ever express.

If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this page to help us reach others.

Thank you for standing beside Emma, Jamie, Katie and Ted during this unimaginably difficult time. Your kindness, generosity and support will help turn heartbreak into meaningful moments.
