Our family’s life was turned upside down after repeated hurricanes devastated our home in Perry, Florida, leaving it severely damaged and unsafe due to black mold. While insurance repairs have been delayed, we were forced to live in a gutted house for nearly a year. Then in November, our three-year-old daughter, Emma, began having unexplained high fevers and was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. We immediately relocated two hours away to Gainesville so Emma could begin intensive chemotherapy. She now has a port in her chest, is considered high-risk, and will remain in frontline treatment through November 2026.
Because our home is still unlivable and unsafe for an immunocompromised child, our family remains separated—our teenager is still in Perry for school, and Emma is far from her big sister and the dogs she loves so deeply. We are fundraising to help cover daily living expenses and secure a safe home base in Gainesville so we can focus fully on Emma’s care and finally bring our family back together. Emma has shown incredible strength through all of this, and with your support, we can give her the safe, stable environment she needs to continue fighting.
