¡Hola, mis amigos!
I am thrilled to share that I’ve deferred my admission to American University and instead, I’ll be taking a gap year to serve as a mission volunteer in El Salvador. I will be serving the Methodist Church of El Salvador (la Iglesia Evangelica Metodista en El Salvador) in a city called Ahuachapán. There, I’ll be a teacher’s aide at the Colegio Metodista, assisting a United Methodist missionary to teach English and work with the students. I’ll also be involved in the youth ministry in the area.
My time of service will be self-funded, and so I am trying to raise the funds needed to support this mission work. The costs include transportation, room and board, and minimal living expenses. I’ll leave on August 25th, and plan to return in May 2018. I would be grateful if you would consider supporting my work in Ahuachapán.
If you would like to know more about the Iglesia Evangelica Metodista in El Salvador, check out their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/iglesiametodista.elsalvador.
The Iglesia Evangelica Metodista in El Salvador is a small but growing in its impact and witness in the country. I am privileged to be a part of its ministry to the community of Ahuachapán. I’m so excited about this opportunity to serve others through the Church, learn about another country and its culture, and increase my Spanish fluency!
Thank you so much for your consideration, your support, and your prayers.
