Emma & Tina’s The Lap Fundraiser

Emma and Tina are taking part in The Lap on 10th May 2025. 47miles around Lake Windermere with 8530ft of ascent/descent in 24 hours.

We are fundraising for two very important charities CRY-cardiac risk in the young & The British Heart Foundation. Money will be equally split between the two charities. Along with this we will run a community day of CPR and defib machine training to raise awareness and confidence in our communities ability to help someone in need.

WHY?

In 2023 our friend Dean Adams aged just 40 suffered a cardiac arrest whilst playing badminton. An extremely fit person who enjoyed road biking and badminton to name just two. Fortunately due to fast acting fellow players and the close by use of a defib machine Deans heart was shocked back into rhythm and he then continued to Blackpool Hospital to continue life saving treatment. It’s been a tough journey and continues to be for Deans family but the outcome could have been so much worse without the vital defib machine and the fast acting community members.

We would like to help members of the community be more confident and have the skills to help someone in their moment of need and in addition donate to two charities that do fantastic work in this area.
